Easy Does It - Best Rose of 2010
Virtually Disease Free, Gorgeous and Effortless? If only everything in life came this way right?
But we take what we can get and that's the combo in the All America Rose winner for 2010! It's called "Easy Does It" - a floribunda that has a double ruffling of flowers and looks like a mango smoothie, with shades of peach, pink, and apricot.
You'll see it featured in the upcoming Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade come January 1st, as it makes its debut on the Bayer Advanced Float, before millions watching around the world.
What makes this rose a winner is not only its beauty but its carefree approach to life. You can find it now as a bareroot rose in garden centers near you. I'm going to try it because it's known not only for its pretty colors and strong staying power, but its ability to fend off disease! It's also a great one to try in containers!
For 70 years, the All America Rose Selections has named the best of the best in roses, many given a name after a celebrity, from Betty Boop to Julia Child. Earning that title is tough, as the AARS runs the world's most challenging horticultural testing program, and is looking for roses that will be easy to grow and require minimal care by the busy homeowner.
