Cinder Block for Raised Veggie Bed
Talk about an AH HAH moment! I have fallen in love with this idea of using concrete cinder-blocks to make your customized and inexpensive raised planting bed! How perfect for your edible garden too?
Here at Logan’s Garden Center, in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, the concrete blocks are stacked 3 to 4 high and formed larger area in the middle to plant multiple vegetables.
Best part is the ready made “pockets” that are the signature of the concrete blocks that can be used to plant smaller herbs and edibles!
Because this is a colder area they have spray painted the blocks black to hold in the heat! I’m thinking of painting mine a terra cotta red-orange, but the sky is the limit!
And when you consider concrete block at Home Depot is under 2 bucks a pop! More money for veggies and herbs to grow in your garden! Enjoy!
