I love to broadcast from the Rose Parade in Pasadena each year because it is a day when we are all kids again! The wonder and the beauty of these floats and it's fun to know what kind of flowers and natural materials are used!

It's a 12 year plus tradition at the LA County Arboretum, in Arcadia, CA. Making an Old Fashioned Wreath using all natural materials found at the botanical garden, along with whatever accents you bring. For me I added oranges from our yard!

30 Plus Designers have spent the past 3 months working on the Pasadena Showcase House - the historic Cravens Estate that was built in 1930. Here's a sneak peak at what they've done!

Here's a sneak peak at this year's Pasadena Showcase House 2010 project - It is the historic Cravens Estate - a 1930's home with originally FIFTY rooms with a French Baroque Chateau inspired design. In recent years this has been home to the Pasadena Red Cross - looking forward to a much needed upgrade that will respect the building's rich history.

If you haven't gone to the Post Parade - 3 days where the floats in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses parade are on display up close and personal, you really haven't seen the floats in all of their glory! Here is a peak and check out Tillman snowboarding bulldog who came by my broadcast booth to visit!

An exciting day broadcasting from the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade! This is the vantage point from the TV and Radio grand stands at the parade start - Orange Grove and Colorado, as the floats, the equestrian units, and bands are seen by tens of millions around the world!

The floats are starting to really come alive now with the fresh flowers, most in vials of water, added to the stunning creations. I also got a sneak peak at the fresh flower "vault" where floatmakers "check out" their purchased flowers for their designated floats and where volunteers cut roses and add vials to the ends! WOW the color is amazing!

Spent the day at Float Building"camp" in Pasadena where hundreds of volunteers work round the clock for days to get floats prepared for showtime come New Year's Day. Four days and counting until Jan 1st and mostly dried flowers, with some leaves and mums are separated, ground up, glued and applied

This is a homeowner in Los Angeles that clearly has an appreciation for animals - wild animals - many of them! Check out the yard art with an Out of Africa flair! It definitely catches your attention the 20 plus animals out in front!

This is my childhood home that I sold many years ago to a family who really remodeled and improved it and is moving on and selling it! I just happened to drive by to catch the open house and was impressed by the additional rooms and makeover, but still treasure what DIDN'T change and brought back memories, from the pool and diving board, to the garden, to my Dad's sprinkler system, and even the old dryer - still there! A pond is life changing! I love how it looks, how it sounds and how it relaxes me everyday! And it's so fun having aquatic plants, especially my night blooming lily. Of course the best is having koi, Goldie, Big Red, Little Red, Blackie and Blue Bell
