Here's a sneak peak at this year's Pasadena Showcase House 2010 project - It is the historic Cravens Estate - a 1930's home with originally FIFTY rooms with a French Baroque Chateau inspired design. In recent years this has been home to the Pasadena Red Cross - looking forward to a much needed upgrade that will respect the building's rich history. -

An exciting day broadcasting from the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade! This is the vantage point from the TV and Radio grand stands at the parade start - Orange Grove and Colorado, as the floats, the equestrian units, and bands are seen by tens of millions around the world! -
The Fresh Flowers Added to Rose Floats
The floats are starting to really come alive now with the fresh flowers, most in vials of water, added to the stunning creations. I also got a sneak peak at the fresh flower "vault" where floatmakers "check out" their purchased flowers for their designated floats and where volunteers cut roses and add vials to the ends! WOW the color is amazing! -
Making of Rose Floats
Spent the day at Float Building"camp" in Pasadena where hundreds of volunteers work round the clock for days to get floats prepared for showtime come New Year's Day. Four days and counting until Jan 1st and mostly dried flowers, with some leaves and mums are separated, ground up, glued and applied -

Childhood Home What Changed and What Stayed
This is my childhood home that I sold many years ago to a family who really remodeled and improved it and is moving on and selling it! I just happened to drive by to catch the open house and was impressed by the additional rooms and makeover, but still treasure what DIDN'T change and brought back memories, from the pool and diving board, to the garden, to my Dad's sprinkler system, and even the old dryer - still there!
