Watching Out for the Asian Citrus Psyllid

Yikes! The pest is continuing to spread? The good news is that the Asian citrus psyllid  can be stopped with help from the community. I talked to Ted Batkin, president of the California Citrus Research Board, who updated us about this important issue.

As a reminder, the Asian citrus psyllid is a tiny, aphid-like insect that can carry a devastating plant disease called huanglongbing (HLB), also known as citrus greening disease. HLB destroys the taste of citrus fruit and juice, along with the production, appearance and value of citrus trees .Once a citrus tree becomes infected with the disease, there is no cure and the tree will eventually die. Listen in for tips and tricks on what can be done to help manage this pesky problem.
